Using a pen name for a script you are not happy with, but still want to move

Has anyone used a pen name for a script they didn't like or one they thought wouldn't be accepted, but still wanted to move it somehow? I haven't used a pen name myself, but I can see it being a useful thing if you write a script you're not comfortable putting your real name to.

Maybe it's a controversial script and you can't be tied to it right away? Idk, has anyone done this? Or would you think it's dumb in terms of marketing yourself more?

I'm sure some do. I know Stephen King had a pen name for some of his books. I think they were for books he thought wouldn't sell well, or they were genres he didn't normally do.

I'd never put my name to anything I thought was not worthy of it. In the same light, I'd just not put it out there.

Don't keep writing... till you know how.
