Hi,

I've written 2 feature films and am looking for agencies or agents that are accepting scripts. I have looked everywhere and there seems to be lots of literary agents for novelists but none for screenwriters??

Any suggestions would be ace ?

Hey Marty,

Thanks for your post!

Securing an agent is a very difficult thing to do, many screenwriting and talent agents / agencies are very particular on who they choose to represent. The reason for this is because they have the pick of the bunch; usually screenwriters that have already had work optioned before or that have very promising achievements in screenplay competitions etc.

As you have only written two feature-lengths I would currently focus your efforts on writing some more scripts. The more scripts you write and practice you get, the more you will be increasing your chances of securing an agent in the future!

Even when you have a little more experience under your belt, I would perhaps look into finding a literary manager before an agent. They are usually easier to attain and more willing to work with screenwriters with less professional experience.

I hope this helps moving forward. Best of luck on your screenwriting journey 🙂
